OPEN LETTER TO PHILIPPINE PRESIDENT GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO
IN PROTEST OF HR VIOLATIONS & ASSASSINATIONS BY THE PHIL MILITARY

H.E. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo
President of the Republic
Malacanang Palace
JP Laurel St., San Miguel
Manila, Philippines
Email: corres@op.gov.ph, opnet@ops.gov.ph

Your Excellency:

We find it ironic that a government supposedly part of the “war against terrorism” should be waging state terrorism. Such a conclusion, however, is inevitable in the light of the following:

** The continuing assassination of peasant leaders and their allies in the wake of a military-paramilitary attack on striking workers of Hacienda Luisita, in which nearly a dozen landless farmers were killed;

** The continuing assassination, arrest and harassment of members/organizers of the partylist BAYAN MUNA, electoral arm of the progressive alliance BAYAN, of whom 48 have been killed;

** The continuing assassination, arrest and harassment of members/organizers of the women’s alliance GABRIELA and its electoral arm, GABRIELA Women’s party, of whom 11 have been killed, including a vice-mayor.

** The assassination attempt on Atty. Romeo Capulong, legal consultant of the National Democratic Front;

** The disappearance of some 115 men and women during your short tenure as president.

These are taking place in the context of:

** Your administration’s attempt to triple the tax burden of the Filipino people through the so-called VAT (Value-added taxes);

** Your administration’s negotiations with the US to transfer US military bases in Okinawa to the Philippines, specifically to the oil and natural resources-rich areas of Central and Southern Philippines;

** Your administration’s stated intent to export a million Filipinos every year, 65% women, to cover-up the public treasury’s bankrupt state, a result of election over-spending and corruption, and to be able to service the $57 billion owed to the IMF/WB.

We ask that you order the Philippine Armed Forces, its paramilitary units and all its instrumentalities to cease and desist their murderous campaign against BAYAN, GABRIELA and other people’s organizations, as well as progressive electoral parties. In addition, we ask that you hold accountable all military personnel responsible for these continuing human rights violations and assassinations, which are rapidly becoming a hallmark of your administration.

We ask that you look into the link between the presence of US troops in the Philippines and the degeneration of human, civil and women’s rights in the archipelago. We ask that you cancel all negotiations to transfer from Okinawa to the Philippines US military bases, as this would indubitably violate the Philippine Constitution you swore to uphold. Indeed, the mere presence of the US military in whatever capacity on Philippine soil already violates your country’s constitution.

By this open letter, we wish to register our condemnation of the murders, arrests and harassment of activists who merely wish to secure for the poor and the powerless access to civil, human and women’s rights. We wish to register our protest at your government’s cultivation of the “culture of impunity,” which accepts the extrajudicial execution, arrest and torture of those who dissent.

We ask that you take seriously the oath you took as president -- to protect the constitution, sovereignty, patrimony, territory and interests of the people of the Philippines. Those who unable or unwilling to fulfill the tasks and responsibilities specified in the presidential oath should hold neither the title nor the position.

tengo hambre para ti

quiero caminar en tus pensamientos
como las flores florecen en la tierra
de tus sueños
descortezar los hilos de rojo oscuro
que esconde tu debilidad
desnudo,
como una semilla viniendo
afuera de la concha,
para la sensualidad de vida
para mi sensualidad
para nuestra vida

nang dahil nabaliw ang katawan sa pagod

words came to life, rescucitated by a poet named broken shade. a man like an other man has never been aroused by the mere dance of words, words that sway with every vowel every consenant every exclamation point! never known that the mere tiptoeing of tongues to form the sensual word: "beautiful" could seem sensual, if nto orgasmic in the minds of vast galaxies all jumbled and highlighted by stars.

then i skipped stones over the stream... separating me from the world. i flexxed my head sideways in astonishment as a skip became eternity. suspended in air or perhaps its weight lifted by water.

agent mulder's water bed is leaking

nothing seemed to work as things from carpets to mobile phones marshmallowed into a blob of water and matter. i should really sleep.
hours have passed since i got home from work. but the odors of work lingers around me, like a heavy tapestry covering my whole body. watch out bitterness talking. haha!

i still remember around 315 in the afternoon, i jumped out of a friend's car. bidding farewell to a boy who made lilttle bang bang sounds as he pointed his pink colored gun at me.... and now the eternal om.................. i just crashed my train of thoughts straight to a brick wall. blah!

ovulating poetically lately... so here goes

iron chef yanzyban

peanut butter and jelly
smothered in mustard
lifeless, abstract like the olive oil
salt and pepper to taste
ginger, soy sauce, chopped cilantro
that is all to it...
peanut sauce

goodluck gud sa imo yanz.

food network crazy

watching the barbecue week feature on the food network. and it had a great tip on making your own sumptuous baby back ribs. i didnt have paper or pen...

the key is the 8 3 1 + 1 formula.
8 parts dark unrefined (brown) sugar
3 parts (shit i forgot)
1 part chili powder
+
1 part cayenne powder, thyme powder, onion powder

mix them up together and then rub it on the ribs
place ribs on aluminum foil

then supposed to make some sort of juice... to put into the aluminum foil, i forgot it again.

pour the juice on the ribs, then brazen or put in the oven fo 2 and a half hours.

when done, drain the juice, and cook the juice on a saucepan until it thickens into a sauce. using a brush, cover the ribs with the sauce.

broil the ribs until it carmelizes, which usually takes around 10- 30 seconds, so always keep an eye on it.

whew... i managed to remeber most of it... ill be back to edit this

the hotel at new hampshire

young bodies
smooth, round and tender...
like a cloth of silk flowing
with every sway of the wind
not a wrinkle
nor a fold in sight
just lines in harmony with each other
where one begins and ceases to end

white, as a pearl hidden on the sea covered oysters
its innocence, protected by a shell
and a constant lullaby of the waves
from above

hands resting on a young boys chest
fingers barely touching the tips of his nipples
yet sweet sensations of bliss surges
through the boy's unrestricted mind

unrestricted, the boy becomes a man.
tucked in the bosom
and the temple
of an eve in a garden
long since pushed in shady corners of our mind
